PAX - Cortana and her Soldiers by Hyokenseisou-Cosplay PAX - Cortana and her Soldiers by Hyokenseisou-Cosplay
K well not REALLY Cortana's soldiers, but a good group pic of a bunch of 405th and Halo cosplayers, including the actual Legacy KAT suit.
This was one of the many pics taken during the Halofest VIP party. It was pretty wicked to have at least 2 dozen people snapping away our pictures when we were standing in a group like that, made us (are at least me for sure) feel like a celebrity lol.

I totally love how my suit's visor was the ONLY one not affected by any flash and you can't see the face on the other side. lolol

I was like in mid blinking.... so yeah, my eyes aren't THAT small.

Cortana made by me
White Spartan (HYO-005) made by me, currently being worn by :iconpikminlink: in this picture
Visor help from my bf :iconrag3qu1t:
Picture taken by whoever.... found this on the interwebs.

I can just imagine the Marine looking at all the SPARTANs and the AI in the away party and thinking: "$#@% it. I'm a dead man!"

Red shirt syndrome FTW!

may I ask you how manny time and cash does your awsome work requiers cause I realy want to make one. You are the one who I ask the question cause personnaly you did one of the best '' afordable '' work on a halo suit ( well if we compare to legacys Kat suit we know wich is mor afordable for a 17 years old student xD) Anyway I was just wondering. So again nice work for everything you have such talent never stop doing what you love as we all should ! :)

Making a suit of armor is not for the light of heart and shallow wallets. Mine took close to $200+ to make, and with future fix-ups on it will end up costing me more. And although I crammed this project into 2.5 weeks, a good suit of armor SHOULD take a minimum of 6 months.

Legacy's Kat and Noble 6 are expensive, yes, but that's because they're made up of a completely different material than most suits made by 405th members. I can't tell you exactly what it's made out because I'm pretty sure I'm not allowed. But it's not fiberglass and resin I can tell you that much.

yeah thiers look more like a mix of bondo and flex foam wich makes a secret mix xD anyway :P I heard from memvers of the 405th that it could cost about 1000 to do an all straped and ajusted armor suit ... but now that I know that your'S cost you less :P it's nice :)thanks for it .

Last question: I know that most of the 405th memebers use motorcycles visor to make mark 6 helmet visor odst visor too, but did your pilot helmet visor is done with vaccume forming thecnique ?

Yeah it's impossible to mix bondo and flex foam together, completely different compounds.
I know what it's made of, I helped put it on the wearer at PAX on saturday....

Other 405th members are right, a suit can cost an upwards of 1000+. Longshot's suit cost in about 3000+ in materials alone. Mine will probably hit that mark when I remake a lot of the pieces. Mine was a super rushed project so that's why it was so 'cheap'.

It depends on the helmet itself. If it can allow for a motorcycle visor, then 90% of the time people will use that. With helmets like the pilot helmet or EVA helm, those require either vac-forming it or a different method. Since I didn't have time to make a vac-former, I had my bf help me (for the strength) hand mold it. It was a thermal plastic that we put in the oven, heated up until soft, then molded over the original forms.

ok but in the end how comme can you see trough a thermo plastic sheet ? can somme be like translucent on one side and reflecting on the other ? cause it's realy the critic point for me to decide wich helmet to print the reach mark v or the pilot helm

And I say 'reflective' in a sense that one side is shiny and you "can't see through" to the other side, and the other side is like sun glasses. ie motorcycle visor
